Learn advanced techniques on creating naturalistic looking carved deadwood with Will Baddeley. Using specialized grinders, nippers, and blades, this workshop will provide a great opportunity to take your trees to the next level. Spaces are limited and will be on a first come, first served basis, so reserve your spot early.

After the workshop, feel free to attend the Dai Ichi Bonsai Kai meeting at 7pm, where Will is going to present an in-depth demonstration of the carving techniques covered in the workshop.

For more information and to reserve your spot please email doylesaito@yahoo.com.

Will Baddeley. Will has been creating trees for over 20 years now. Although heavily influenced by Colin Lewis and Kev Willson, he is pretty much self taught. He is known for his more naturalistic carving and working with native trees as well as more traditional species, Will works across Europe and was invited to the US last year.

He has schools in Italy and Denmark and has worked for many years in the Czech Republic  and Belgium. Will has been asked to work in the US, New Zealand and Australia this year. Private collections or group workshops are his main occupation; the latter being a lead in gaining access, confidence and technique with carving pruning and styling  bonsai at all levels.

Dai Ichi Bonsai Kai (“Number One” Bonsai Club) was established in January, 1986. Our club is dedicated to promoting the art of bonsai, and takes great pride in its family-oriented character. The club meets on the third Friday of each month at the Ken Nakaoka Community Center, 1670 W. 162nd St., Gardena, at 7:00 P.M. Each meeting features a bonsai demonstration, benefit drawing and the public is welcome.
