Our September in-person meeting brings another new venue for our club, as ongoing Covid restrictions force us to relocate (for now). The meeting will be held just down the street from the Nakaoka Center, on 162nd street, just west of Western Blvd.

Friday, September 17th at 7pm
Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute (GVJCI)
1964 W 162nd Street, Gardena 90247

I would like to thank the staff of the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute/GVJCI for letting us use their facility and providing the flexibility to host our monthly meeting at their location. We will be using the large VFW hall for our meeting, and all covid restrictions will be in place. We kindly ask that all attendees be vaccinated and respect social distancing rules. Masks must be worn throughout the event and will be available at the door for anyone who is without. There will be no food table, but please feel free to bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

This month we welcome Julian Tsai as our demonstrator. We have had Julian scheduled a few times in the past, but something always jumps in the way. Julian has insightful ideas, and a practiced knowledge of bonsai in a professional setting for someone so youthful.  We are very lucky to have Julian available for our club, let’s give him a warm welcome.

I would also like to thank a few families who have made large donations to our club:

The Don Watanabe Family
Rosie & Richard Hangen
The Kame Family

I hope to see everyone at our next meeting.

Doyle
