Using specialized grinders, nippers, and blades, this workshop will provide a great opportunity to take your trees to the next level. After the workshop, feel free to attend the Dai Ichi Bonsai Kai meeting at 7pm, where Will is going to present an in-depth demonstration of the carving techniques covered in the workshop.<\/p>\n

Although heavily influenced by Colin Lewis and Kev Willson, he is pretty much self taught. He is known for his more naturalistic carving and working with native trees as well as more traditional species, Will works across Europe and was invited to the US last year. <\/span><\/p>\nHe has schools in Italy and Denmark and has worked for many years in the Czech Republic\u00a0 <\/span>and Belgium. Will has been asked to work in the US, New Zealand and Australia this year. Private collections or group workshops are his main occupation; the latter being a lead in gaining access, confidence and technique with carving pruning and styling\u00a0 <\/span>bonsai at all levels.<\/span><\/p>\nDai Ichi Bonsai Kai (\u201cNumber One\u201d Bonsai Club) was established in January, 1986. Our club is dedicated to promoting the art of bonsai, and takes great pride in its family-oriented character.\u00a0<\/span>The club meets on the third Friday of each month at the Ken Nakaoka Community\u00a0Center, 1670 W. 162nd St., Gardena, at 7:00 P.M.
