{"id":2614,"date":"2024-03-04T17:18:09","date_gmt":"2024-03-04T17:18:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.daiichibonsaikai.com\/?p=2614"},"modified":"2024-03-04T17:18:09","modified_gmt":"2024-03-04T17:18:09","slug":"mitch-matsey-march-15th-7pm-gvjci","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.daiichibonsaikai.com\/?p=2614","title":{"rendered":"Mitch Matsey \u2013 March 15th 7PM @ GVJCI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>PRESIDENT&#8217;S MESSAGE<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>This month brings a bit of a slow period for the club, we have various workshops and teaching sessions, but nothing too extensive for our club. \u00a0 The first event will be a beginner\u2019s repotting workshop on Saturday March 16<sup>th<\/sup>. \u00a0 The second workshop is on Sunday March 24<sup>th<\/sup>, this will be hands on workshop teaching beginning students the art of bonsai.\u00a0 These sessions will help teach new students and increase your knowledge and understanding of bonsai principles.\u00a0 Teaching is a fun way to reinforce those things that your teachers have been trying to impart on you these many years.<\/p>\n<p>Our featured demonstrator this month is Mitch Matsey, a knowledgeable and experienced bonsai artist from the southern California area.\u00a0 Mitch has spent many years developing his talent under the guidance of his teacher Ted Matson. \u00a0 This demonstration will feature the topic of Ficus bonsai and all the aspects needed to grow and develop this species.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>NEXT MEETING<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/cf8a8cc28dade04b753db9bd1\/images\/f734c68c-be58-0732-5e45-31fc9acfbd14.png\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" data-file-id=\"7471308\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>BEGINNERS WORKSHOPS &#8211; VOLUNTEERS NEEDED<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dai Ichi will be helping with multiple bonsai workshops during the year, we are always looking for help. If your interested in helping teach at these workshops just let me know.\u00a0 You may not be teaching the whole workshop but we will have you focus on 1 or 2 students.
