PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE<\/strong><\/p>\n

This month will bring some changes to our club. We have Autumn Subbie handling the livestream of the club meetings, and will be an administrator for our social media presence. Thank you Autumn! We are also looking for help with other club board positions. If you would like to help and donate some time, stop me and just ask.<\/p>\n

This month the Visiting Artist Program will be bringing Cesar Ordonez back to talk Olives and bonsai. We will have a workshop during the day on Friday; you can bring your own trees or purchase one from Cesar for the workshop.<\/p>\n

I write this message in both a happy and sad mood. Jason and Alyssa will be moving up to the Portland area. I am happy for them with their new adventure, and all the potential bonsai that he will be able to grow: white pine, hemlock, sub-alpine, and so many other varieties of trees to name! Since 2014 Jason has jumped in and dragged this club forward into the new technology age. The first thing he fixed was our outdated newsletter. This became one of the best newsletters around, award winning and state of the art. The next thing you know we are filming our club meetings and posting them online for everyone to check out and learn from. Amazing! Finally, we started livestreaming our club demonstrations, and again making the content available for everyone to see. Jason is a bonsai visionary who helped bring many clubs into this new era of bonsai; livestreaming club events, teaching other people how and what to do, and taking clubs forward into today\u2019s social media bonsai world. Thank you for leading bonsai into a new era and bringing a better awareness of bonsai to Southern California.<\/p>\n

Stop by at the July meeting and say goodbye to Jason & Alyssa. We will be there earlier then normal to share a meal with Jason and anyone else who wants to join us. The location will be at the Gardena JCI-Veterans Hall. We will start at 5:00pm for a buffet meal for everyone and the meeting will start at the usual 7:00 pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n
